In life sciences, 12 applications got funding, in liberal arts, social sciences and arts – 4, and in technical and specific sciences – 3.
“We announced this different competition for NCN, taking into account the unique scenario developing from the development of the SARS-CoV-2 infection and the international pandemic. We anticipated that its statement would result in research work enabling researchers operating in Poland to sign up with the global fight against COVID illness -19. Interest in the competitors has exceeded our expectations, “- states prof. Małgorzata Kossowska, chairwoman of the NCN Council. She included that the choice of applications for funding was tough – funds might only be invested in 7 percent—all submitted jobs.
“We regret that the success rate might not be greater, and many important and interesting jobs will not be funded in these competitors. We encourage researchers to send their applications again in the next recruitment in basic NCN competitors,” – she added.
The competition was directed to scientists who have at least a doctoral degree and have recorded clinical accomplishments in areas related to the function of the game. Research, which will be performed as part of the competitors, can last for the longest 18 months, and the results need to be commonly readily available as quickly as they are gotten.
